Mistral Vibe: what happens to your chats

The privacy policy (effective 3 Sep 2026) calls the product Vibe; it was previously called Le Chat. The help article shows only “Updated today”, so we record our own check date.

1. Training

The privacy policy says input and output may be used to train models, subject to your opt-out, with a control in your account settings.

The help page says Teams and Enterprise plans are opted out by default. Other plans can opt out with the Privacy toggle in the Admin Console (web) or “Enable data sharing” under Data & Account Controls (mobile).

Documents you upload are treated as input.

2. Retention and deletion

Vibe: input and output are kept until you delete your account or the conversation.

3. Human review

Not stated. The policy mentions authorised members of the team accessing personal data strictly to perform their jobs.

Worth knowing, in plain words

Terms in a privacy policy can be hard to read. These are the points that matter most for Mistral Vibe, with a generic example of each. The examples are illustrations, not real cases.

Check the default

In some products or plans, your chats can be used for training until you switch it off yourself. Others start with it off.

Example, illustrative onlyYou sign up on a free plan and start chatting. If the setting is on by default, every chat since day one counted, even though you never agreed to anything in particular.

What this page says: The help page says Teams and Enterprise are opted out by default. Other plans can opt out in settings.

“Not stated” is not “No”

When the pages we read are silent on a point, we say “Not stated”. That means we found no statement, not that the practice does not exist.

Example, illustrative onlyA page says nothing about human review. You cannot conclude that nobody reads chats; you can only conclude the page does not say.

What this page says: Human review is not stated on the pages we read.
